'Back door's open let yourself in'
Or in cyber terms:
'Our API's are largely un-managed and poorly protected so why not just help yourself to our data feast?'
Noise on API (in)security in 2023 has risen to silly levels and seems to only get louder.
Gartner estimate that by 2025, 90% of web applications will expose more attack surface via APIs than User Interfaces (UIs), and during that same time frame fewer than 50% of APIs will be actively managed thus the ripe attack surface for bad actors worldwide.
APIs whilst something of a security after thought are increasingly recognized as a huge enterprise wide security engineering issue. Getting ahead of which is enough of a problem without all of the other priorities organizations have afoot so we've put together a webinar entitled:
How & Why Legal Firms Should Budget for Enhanced API Security in 2024
Why the catchy title?
Firstly: We chose to focus on the Legal sector because our research shows that legal firms boast some of the biggest API exposure and those we have worked with so far in 2023 have therefore realised outstanding ROI.
Secondly: Its budget time and for the most part firms haven't yet dropped an estimate into the 2024 budget so we figured they might appreciate a steer.
Finally we are really pleased to confirm that answering the tough questions will be:
Chuck Herrin, Wib's CTO, who has more than 20 years’ experience within information security, with previously held roles as CISO for Texas Capital Bank and Athene Holdings, as well as the Head of IT Security, Risk, and Compliance for all of AIG's Consumer-facing businesses.
