Back to the classroom for me......
It's been a while since I delivered a lesson to students, (not since my Teacher's College days), but last week I was invited to do just that at East Marden Primary School by Teacher Amy Luppino. A 35 minute power point presentation to year 5/6 students on Local Government extended to an hour and half.
The kids were so connected with the topic that I was blown away. There were questions upon questions flowing from these gorgeous kids, (some of which astounded me). Congratulations to teacher Amy Luppino for preparing the children so well! I'm sure they would have been given questions to ask, however their natural curiosity took over and the lesson extended far beyond the allocated time.
This morning I received the most beautiful thank you card from Room 16...........I was blown away for the second time! What a great school culture and testimony to the dedicated teachers and Principal, Lana Dubrowsky at East Marden Primary for delivering such great educational outcomes for the next precious generation of our community and society.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to Caleb, who was my chaperon and who provided an engaging continual flow of conversation.
