Back to the Basics
In a time when there’s seemingly a lot more negative than positive in the world, I’m grateful for Radio Flyer.
Over these past few months, we’ve been faced with a lot of hardship. First, the pandemic confined us to our homes. Then, a recession loomed. Next, tragic social unrest.
If there’s one thing 2020 has done, it’s brought us back to the basics.
I know I speak for many when I say it’s been the little things keeping me sane – family dinners, game nights, walks with my wife, solo long runs – it really has been the simple pleasures that are getting me through. And, I’m especially grateful for photos like these and knowing that Radio Flyer is playing a part in new routines across the world.
I love seeing pictures of families, friends and little ones heading outdoors for a much-needed break from their homes – the ones that now double as offices, schools and daycares. Radio Flyer is a family business, both in heritage and in purpose. Now in a time when we need family and friends more than ever, it’s beyond special to watch Radio Flyer be a constant companion in people's lives.
In an age of near constant screen time, it’s been awesome to see even the kids grow weary of the iPad, and opt instead for the simple things. For many, their evening walks represent the only time they’ll see other faces, even if from a distance. Since the pandemic made its way to the U.S. we’ve celebrated multiple holidays – from St. Patty’s to July 4th – in brand-new, much subtler ways, including wagon parades. Birthdays have changed too, and I know I’m biased, but I’m not sure there’s anything sweeter than a balloon-covered Little Red Wagon. Or, if it’s just been one of those days in quarantine, we can all relate to practically forcing the kids outside to burn off some energy.
If being part of a 100-year company has taught me anything, it’s resilience. And now more than ever, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bring smiles and create warm memories for families that are resiliently turning lemons into lemonade.

4 年The Radio Flyer is a family-owned American institution, the cart for carrying toys, is known throughout the world, through films, TV series, comic strips, here in Brazil we don't have this Tradition, and Radio flyers end up being collectors' pieces, I think they would have a good market in our country, it would just be finding the right partner. 4 年My red wagon brought me joy as a child, entertainment as a new parent, help as a gardner, sadness when I had to retire it.....now joy again as I watch young children in the neighborhood in their wagons. Thanks for the happy memories New Flyer!

4 年Even during the "stay at home", we've been able to have our grandsons over regularly. When they're at our house, there are no video games...just video making, board games, card games, puzzles, coloring, Play Dough and cardboard boxes. They love coming over here.
