Back to the Basics

The drudgery of the rat race laced with melancholic lifestyle chasing the mindless wants whilst overlooking the fulfilled needs seems to have struck like lightning and creating a generation of people who have begun practising “JOMO” - Joy of Missing Out?

People are now flocking back to nature. The Covid forced lockdown has emphasised and triggered the minds to look at life differently - This time, the focus being on staying in the moment. The attention to self and not on others. No longer is one now influenced by the social media feeds, egging one to “explore” places, posting happy pictures, devouring exotic food and travelling Miles to check off a place from the pressurising list of To-dos?

The world is now calling the attention of all individuals to stick to the basics - the very process of enjoying life with harmony and finding oneself amidst the chaos and cacophony of the self created fast paced life. The pandemic and the fear forced us to accept and try out grandmas good old recipes of boosting immunity and staying healthy. The necessity to stretch, exercise and giving the joints some motion only became imperative. Organic and yoga became the need of the hour.?

Businesses and service offerings around sustainable living, organic food, health care - yoga, meditation, gymnasium, super foods, self tests, eco friendly living, investments in term policies and health insurance, etc have seen to be on the rise. Ayurveda has found it’s lost glory with a push from Ayush.?

Under the garb of natural, authentic and traditional there are players who may be offering chemical induced, genetically altered and to fit the need “solutions” to ride on the growing trend or dare we call it fad.?

The gap today is educating on who should do what and why. For each body reacts differently to the plethora of available resources.?

So, while going back to the basics seems to be the norm, identifying what is natural is a puzzle to solve.?
