?The full form of B. Ed. is Bachelor of Education. It is one of the most famous Professional Degree course that helps an individual to gain the opportunity to work as a teacher in any school. This course can be completed in a duration of 2 years which comprises of 4 semesters. In order to teach at the secondary and the higher secondary level students, it is necessary to possess this degree.
Previously, B. Ed was referred to as B.T (Bachelor of training) and as 'Siksha Shastri' in a few universities. This is a very special course that qualifies students to work as teachers in schools. Requirements to join the course
According to the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) it is mandatory for the job-seekers who wish to pursue their career as future teachers to compulsorily undertake the B.Ed. degree course. This is a definite and main requirement in order to work for any public school in India for any level.

Although B.Ed. is an UG course, it is important that the candidates have to undergo a prior graduation course to pursue the B.Ed. program. Before beginning the B.Ed. program, one has to be a graduate of any stream (Science, Arts or commerce etc) After completing the B.Ed. course, the candidate has to undertake the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) compulsorily to be work in Kendriya Vidyalaya or Sarvodaya Vidyalaya.
The Candidates who want to undertake the course, should have passed any of the graduation courses of any stream by attaining a minimum of 50-55% of aggregate marks at the UG level.
There is no age limit to take up this course. However, it is mandatory that the candidate must have attained minimum of 19 years at the time of admission into the course.
To get an admission into the B.Ed. course, the candidate should pass the entrance exam. Based on the result of their exam they will have to attend for the counselling for the B.Ed. course. The entrance exams are TSEdCET and APEdCET etc. in the B.Ed. entrance test, the candidates are tested for the command over the subject, their language skills as well as their reasoning and aptitude
