Boeing 747 loses main body landing gear during landing
AvHerald reports that a Cargolux Boeing 747-400 was forced to return to Luxembourg shortly after takeoff for Chicago due to an inability to retract its landing gear, and upon landing, the right center gear wheel bogey detached from the aircraft. Despite this, the plane safely came to a stop without any reported injuries:
Pilot hospitalized following Kansas plane crash
A pilot was hospitalized following an airplane crash that occurred at Gardner Municipal Airport in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday afternoon. The cause of the crash remains unclear, and a passenger also sustained minor injuries, KSHB reports:
New Pilatus aircraft type in the making
Aero Telegraph reports that Swiss aircraft manufacturer, Pilatus Aircraft, is working on a new aircraft model that will be positioned between its existing PC-12 and PC-24 models, according to CEO Markus Bucher. Although specifics about the new model are currently undisclosed, Bucher stated it will be a completely new design unlike anything currently available. Meanwhile, the company is committed to the continuous improvement of its current models, including the PC-12, of which the 2000th unit was delivered on May 12th:
