Leaving a Legacy
Today I woke to the news a dear friend had transitioned from this world. It left me heartbroken as she was an incredible woman who let nothing hold her back. She was an inspiration to many people. I loved our conversations. Every time we talked she always talked about her legacy she was building for her family, especially her grandson. It was her driving force in everything she did.
In honour of her today we talked about leaving a legacy on our podcast. There are different ways you can leave a legacy and it doesn't have to be just one.
The list we came up with was:

What legacy are you leaving for future generations?

Live Your Best Life NOW
Tip of the Week
Living your best life is a journey of self-discovery and continuous growth. Start by setting clear intentions for what truly matters to you. Embrace change and challenges as opportunities to learn and evolve, just as you've navigated the ups and downs of life so far.
Cultivate a positive mindset. See setbacks as stepping stones and opportunities for growth. Stay true to your beliefs and values, for they are the compass that guides your decisions.
When traveling and meeting people, remember that diverse experiences enrich your life. Cherish relationships, old and new, as they are the heartbeats of your journey.
And don't forget to take time for yourself, finding joy in simple pleasures like reading and knitting. Finally, your legacy is not just what you leave behind but the impact you have on lives every day. So, be kind, embrace each moment, and let your life sparkle brightly.
Genealogy & Family History
Tip of the Week
Creating a lasting legacy through the rich tapestry of your family's story. This week, focus on preserving and sharing your heritage. Start by engaging in oral history interviews with older family members, capturing their memories and experiences in their own voices. These personal narratives are invaluable treasures that connect generations.
Take the time to digitize your family's photos, documents, and letters, ensuring their longevity. Consider creating a family website or blog where you can share your genealogical discoveries and family stories, fostering connections among relatives. Participate in family reunions to strengthen bonds and share your findings with loved ones. Embrace the power of collaboration through social media and genealogy forums, where sharing information can lead to exciting discoveries. Remember, leaving a legacy through genealogy means preserving not only the past but also providing future generations with a deep and meaningful connection to their roots

Book of the Week
This book became a favourite book for myself and my late husband. If you have not heard about the Last Lecture grab a copy and read it. it is an amazing lecture by Randy Pausch who was a professor at Carnegie Mellon. What made his last lecture so special is he had recently been diagnosed with a terminal cancer. He didn't talk about dying he talked about living, overcoming obstacles, following your dreams, and so much more. To me it was advice he was leaving for his children. It was his legacy to his family.
Travel Tip of the Week
Legacy Travel
Legacy Travel is a deeply personal and enriching journey that transcends the ordinary tourist experience. It's about retracing the steps of your ancestors and reliving the moments that shaped your own life. Whether it's wandering through the quaint streets of your ancestral village, standing in the classroom where you once learned, or revisiting the workplace where you honed your skills, every location becomes a living chapter in your own history. This form of travel isn't just about sightseeing; it's a profound exploration of your roots and the events that have contributed to your identity. It connects the past with the present, allowing you to share these stories with future generations, leaving an enduring legacy of personal history and a profound connection to the places that have played a role in your family's and your own life's narrative.
