FAA AD requires modifications to all Boeing B-17E, F and G aircraft
Pilot Web reports, that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has released a new Airworthiness Directive (AD) for all Boeing B-17E, B-17F and B-17G aircraft, calling for inspections of the wing terminal-to-spar chord joints to prevent potential loss of control and structural integrity due to fatigue cracking. The directive, affecting 18 US aircraft, mandates repairs for any found cracking or corrosion at costs around USD 40.000 per aircraft and requires all inspection results to be reported to the FAA:
CAAP in need for development funds in order to stay on track
ABS CBN News reports that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has stressed the importance of having its own development funds to maintain operations, systems, and upgrade infrastructure. A proposal, House Bill 5002, is currently on the table aiming to provide P5 billion in development funding for CAAP, enhancing their flexibility and ability to incorporate new practices without the need for lengthy legal procedures:
