Lebanese fashion designers George Azzi and Assaad Osta are fast becoming household names in the Middle East and internationally.?
With many celebrities wearing their designs, including Beyoncé, Cardi B, Kendall Jenner, Nadine Labaki, and HM Queen Rania of Jordan, they quickly find their way into all corners of the fashion world.
Lately, a ?collection based on perfume is designed by Lebanese designers Azzi and Osta. This collection is inspired by creating a fragrance, a personal experience that a woman has with an individual scent. The materials used for the collection are carefully chosen to mirror the tastes of women for their style preferences.
The duo gathered inspiration for the collection while visiting a museum that displayed the most delicate perfumes in Grasse, France. They discovered an immense variety of scents from all across the world and the different cultures that brought them to life.
Both George Azzi and Assaad Osta have, once again, created a couture collection that is an ode to the perfect fragrance. The Couture? AW2021-22 is a collaboration between the two of them, and the result is a one-of-a-kind collection with couture-level elegance.
So, how did the designers express the simple nature of a whiff of fragrance in their collection?
They embroidered the precious ingredients into a typical fragrance, such as peach bud, orange blossom, magnolia, fig, patchouli, and neroli. Their work's delicate, intricate patterning is complemented by a luxurious border of tulle stitched together edge-to-edge in frills.? Between a dress resembling a vase and one fashioned from a cloud of tulle, the collection's palette is delicate and light.
The wedding dresses are the most perfect and beautiful in the collection. One of them, a tightly-fitted velvet gown embroidered with myrtle flowers, is meant to be worn with an elasticized bolero of ribbons and tulle.?
Another, a lavishly embroidered gown made of Chantilly silk under a lace-dotted layer of ribboned tulle, is the best dress to wear with a soft silk bolero.
The third wedding dress evokes the brand’s signature sheath silhouette. They decorated the dress with sequins, organza, and feathers.

The two fans of nature subscribe rigorously to slow fashion, designing high-quality creations that stand the test of time. Pieces are composed on-demand, mitigating surplus and ensuring that fabrics don’t buy in bulk. Wherever possible, the fashion house sources sustainable materials, repurposing both fabrics and embroideries.?
The brand further employs local artisans and local creation, meaning that not only is carbon footprint decreased, but communities are also engaged. The packaging is minimal, and any fabric remains are donated to emerging designers, giving them a second life.
Adding to these known practices, the feathers on the dresses of this collection are not feathers, nor is the fur, to help defend wildlife species. In light of climate change, the designers believe that if humanity can join hands to create beauty, it can also save the earth.
How George and Assaad have been able to translate the very essence of the most enticing perfume scents and create a look for young working women is a testament to the avant-garde vision and craftsmanship that come together in each piece of Azzi and Osta's clothing.
