To attach a public IP address to a network interface in Azure, you can follow these steps:
- Go to the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com/ and log in with your Azure account.
- In the Search bar, search for "Network interfaces" and select the result. NOTE: if the interface is already being used by a VM, you must stop the VM first.
- Select the desired network interface.
- In the network interface overview page, click on "IP configurations" in the left-hand menu.
- Click on the name of the IP configuration to which you want to add the public IP address.
- In the "Public IP address settings", select the "Associate" and select an existing public IP address.
- Click on "Save" to save the changes and attach the public IP address to the network interface.
Once the public IP address is attached to the network interface, you can use it to access resources associated with that network interface, such as a virtual machine. You can also configure other settings for the public IP address, such as DNS name, by clicking on the public IP address name in the "Public IP addresses" section of the Azure portal.
