Azmi & Associates' New Appointments in the Leadership Team

Azmi & Associates is pleased to announce the appointments of the new Co-Deputy Managing Partner and 2 new Governance Committee members, effective 3 September 2024.

Our partner, Abu Daud Abd Rahim, has stepped into the role of Co-Deputy Managing Partner, succeeding Zuhaidi Mohd Shahari, who retires after years of exemplary service. Abu Daud, who has been with the firm since 2003, has been instrumental in leading the Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group. His expertise, dedication to client service, and strong leadership make him well-suited for this critical role in advancing the firm's strategic objectives.

Abu Daud began his legal career with the firm in 2003, where he gained a wealth of experience across corporate law, conveyancing, and litigation. His dedication and leadership were recognised with a promotion to Partner in 2011, and he is now the Firm's senior leader for the Litigation & Arbitration Practice Group.

The Firm has also appointed 2 new members of the Governance Committee, namely Farhah Hayati Mamat and Khairul Fazli Abdul Kadir, respectively.

Farhah began her career with the Firm as a pupil and was appointed as an Associate on 22 September 2003. Through her exceptional expertise in financial services, she quickly rose through the ranks and was promoted to Partner on 15 July 2011. Farhah's elevation to the Governance Committee reflects her leadership, proven track record, and significant contributions to the Firm's financial services practice. The Committee's decision to appoint her underscores her continued potential for greater responsibility as she advances her career within the Firm.

Farhah has been recognised as one of the Women Leaders in Banking and Finance by IFLR1000 for her significant contributions, listed among the 18 distinguished individuals in Malaysia.

Khairul joined the Firm as a pupil and was appointed as an Associate on 1 January 2007. He demonstrated exceptional legal acumen, leading to his promotion to Partner on 1 June 2012. His appointment to the Governance Committee reflects the Firm's commitment to diversity and inclusivity, ensuring a wide range of perspectives within the committee. Khairul's leadership and his legal experience make him a valuable addition to the team.

With more than 17 years of experience, Khairul Fazli is well-known for his expertise in intellectual property, biotechnology, technology, franchise, corporate, and commercial law. His extensive practice and unwavering commitment have established him as a trusted authority in these critical areas. Khairul Fazli's accolades include being honoured as Trade Mark Star 2024 in Malaysia by IP STARS and being recognised by Asia IP as Malaysia’s Leading IP Expert, underscoring his exceptional expertise in intellectual property law.

The Governance Committee members of the Firm include Dato' Azmi Mohd Ali, Ahmad Lutfi Abdull Mutalip, Serina Abdul Samad, Abu Daud Abd Rahim, Norhisham Abd Bahrin, Jonathan Law, and supported by Zul Adenan Ainul Azyan (Chief Operating Officer).
