Ayurveda; a Sanskrit term meaning 'Life Science', offers an ancient holistic approach to health. This philosophy, which Katherina first encountered at Chiva-Som Academy in 2002, posits that we are a unique blend of internal elements coexisting with external elements.
Life’s ebb and flow can impact the harmony, or dis-ease, of our innate nature. Understanding that each individual is a unique combination and should be treated as such fascinated her, prompting a deeper exploration into both herself and others.
The balance between our inner and outer nature is essential for achieving peace and maintaining a healthy state of mind and body. As Katherina's journey into self-healing progressed, Ayurveda played a crucial role in resolving her skin and digestion issues, which stemmed from an excess of the fire element. The process of healing becomes an enjoyable exploration of our elemental composition and how to maintain harmony in both mind and body. However, the most challenging aspect can be acknowledging our contributions to our suffering, which is the first step toward self-healing.
Self-care is integral to cultivating health and wealth, as these are interdependent aspects of our well-being. There are various ways to initiate this process, with no better time than now. Initially, one can take a body and mind type test to identify which elements may need balancing. Holistically, our being encompasses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.
Ayurveda addresses aspects such as exercise, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, work/career, family, friends, spirituality, psychology, purpose, and even allopathic medicine.
It encompasses all factors that influence our quality of life, empowering us to take a proactive role in our health rather than leaving it to chance or others.
While destiny may play a part in our lives, we are ultimately the drivers of our own journey, choosing the direction we wish to take. We can either enjoy the journey by aligning with higher consciousness or face challenges through unconscious desires.
Through her apprenticeship, service, and guidance, Katherina has gained extensive experience in helping others become more aware of their subconscious. This knowledge has enabled her to guide people toward a more fulfilling life, which begins with balancing the physical body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Her workshops are uniquely tailored to the needs of each student or corporate group whilst recognising the individuality of each person.
