Axial Length Measurement: The Key to Effective Myopia Management

Many devices can measure axial length these days. At Treehouse Eyes we’ve found various optical biometers that have been very precise and accurate. On the flip side, we’ve seen devices that touch the cornea that have not shown precision in measuring axial length in a young child over time. We firmly believe that to manage myopia all children should have baseline axial length measurements done to determine treatment efficacy. These allow timelier intervention and also to adjust course much sooner when a child’s myopia is still progressing.
