AWS Senior Cloud Architect, 100% remote, CONTRACT - IMMEDIATE NEED

We are seeking an AWS Senior Cloud Architect with a focus on Cloud Infrastructure for one of our top clients.

This role will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting firm-wide cloud-based architecture strategies and solutions.?The scope of this role is firm-wide and includes our entire AWS multi-account organization. The role will work with a small team of seasoned and certified AWS Architects and interact with other functional teams. This is a hands-on role, working in AWS using DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Use DevOps Automation focused on Infrastructure concerns.?Strong DevOps experience/mindset with CALMS principles. Automate provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Identify, develop, implement, and improve infrastructure management/operational activities using automated cloud-based solutions. Develop, modify, support, and maintain AWS based infrastructure. Migrate existing Cloud infrastructure to managed IaC using terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• AWS Security leadership and incorporation of security as “job zero” in the infrastructure space.
• Implement strategies aligned to AWS’s Well Architected Framework principles, with emphasis on Performance Optimization and continuous improvement.
• Player / coach.?Hands-on leader and mentor: willing to share knowledge and experience with the team.
• Contribute to team efforts to maintain solutions, processes, and infrastructure tooling supported with clear documentation.
• Participate in Socratic Methods with other Architects and colleagues on technical solution proposals, including Architecture reviews to drive optimal solutions.
• Ability to communicate with multiple cross functional stakeholders – both technical and non-technical, in a concise and consumable manner.
• Must be able to work in a Sprint-oriented manner, where a Sprint may have multiple work streams.
• Must be a self-starter and be comfortable in working in a Remote Work environment.
• Incident response support as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Minimum: current/verifiable AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure – network, DNS, compute, storage, and security.
• 5+ years of IaaS experience including designing, building, deploying, and migrating workloads.
• 4+ year hands-on AWS experience, including AWS Organizations, VPC, IAM, EC2/EBS/ALB, S3, Route 53, and RDS provisioning.
• 2+ years hands-on AWS Security experience in IAM Roles & Policies, Bucket Policies, CloudTrail, and Config.
• 2+ years with AWS Developer Tools – CodeCommit/git, CodePipeline, CloudFormation and Terraform, AWS CLI and lambda.
• 2+ years’ experience with Python - the candidate must be comfortable with and have a demonstrated ability to create Python/boto3 code.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure operations best practices, including experience in IT Operations in a high availability model.
• Demonstrated experience supporting corporate web sites.
• Comfortable operating in a matrix organization, strong ability to communicate across teams to ensure alignment of technology strategy, best practices, and successful delivery.
• Availability to support systems on-call after hours as needed.?Experienced in troubleshooting, deep-dives, and debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current/verifiable AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Cloud Native Architectures.
• Experience with Fargate and containerization of workloads.
• Experience with CloudFront, DNS/BIND, AWS Networking Services.
