27th November - 1st December 2023, Las Vegas – AWS re:Invent 2023 flagship annual cloud event was a tech extravaganza that brought tech enthusiasts, engineers, and business leaders together, revealing one groundbreaking innovation after another.?

The CEO, Adam Selipsky, and the VP of Data and AI, Swami Sivasubramanian, took the stage and kicked off the event with their keynote showcasing a bunch of cool stuff. A central theme was the transformative power of generative artificial intelligence (generative AI), with notable insights from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, highlighting the expanded AWS-Nvidia partnership.

AWS redefined analytics with highly durable Amazon OpenSearch Service clusters. With a 30% price/performance improvement, these clusters offer eleven nines of data durability and a zero-time Recovery Point Objective (RPO). Additionally, AWS Clean Rooms introduced Differential Privacy for enhanced user data privacy, along with AWS Clean Rooms ML, allowing partners to apply ML models without sharing raw data.

The AWS Step Functions Workflow Studio integration with AWS Application Composer enhances workflow and application resource development. For Amazon SQS FIFO queues, throughput increases and dead letter queue drive support were introduced, catering to high-volume messaging needs. Zonal auto-shift in Amazon Route 53 Application Recovery Controller automatically shifts traffic away from troubled Availability Zones. Mutual authentication for Application Load Balancer enhances security, and AWS Step Functions now supports external endpoints and task state testing.

AWS Partner-Led Support (PLS) participants gain access to diagnostic tools previously available to AWS Support Engineers.

Amazon Inspector introduces new capabilities, including open-source plugins, continuous monitoring, and generative AI-powered assisted code remediation. AWS Control Tower adds 65 new controls, enhancing digital sovereignty requirements. The Vector engine for Amazon OpenSearch Serverless is now available, simplifying machine learning-augmented search experiences. AWS Lambda functions now scale 12 times faster for handling high-volume requests.

Storage Solutions Unveiled

Amazon S3 Express One Zone, designed for frequently accessed data, delivers up to 10x better performance than S3 Standard. Amazon EBS Snapshots Archive is now available with AWS Backup, allowing the transition of infrequently accessed snapshots to low-cost archive storage. Amazon EFS sees the introduction of replication failback, increased IOPS, and a new storage class optimized for rarely-accessed files.

Quantum Technologies Preview

Amazon Braket Direct provides dedicated access to various quantum processing units without queues or wait times.
