AWS re: Invent pre announcements

As re: Invent 2019 warms up here in Vegas, I thought it would be nice to write about a few of the "not so important" announcements that were made just before re: Invent. I find these in particular very interesting.

1. Control tower in existing organization. It will not control the existing accounts, just the new ones.

2. SSO with Azure AD. Enables SSO vis-a-vis Azure AD.

3. Aurora ML - Aurora is integrated with SageMaker & Comprehand so you can run machine learning on the data directly from your SQL.

4. Tag polices, create policies that mandate certain Tags on resources. Including a compliance report.

5. CloudWatch ServiceLens - visualize & analyze the health, performance & availability of distributed cloud applications.

6. AppConfig - a feature of System Manager that enables quick roll-outs of pre-validated application configuration changes for EC2, Containers & serverless.

7. RedShift - new console, new Geo data, WOW.

8. CloudTrail insights - ML Based unusual operations detection and alerting.

9. FireLens - Seamlessly direct container logs to one place to be analyzed.

10. AWS DataExchange - Buy and sell data on a marketplace.

11. CloudFormation - Import existing resources into stack (on top of CloudFormer).

12. Saving plans. Last but not least. A big one. Commit to a dollar amount, not resource type, with simillar discount. I believe most RIs will be replaced by saving plans.

And a little spoiler for tomorrow... Fargate for EKS... just saying.
