AWS and DevOps for Continuous Innovation

AWS and DevOps for Continuous Innovation

As companies develop new applications or software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, it has become essential that companies adopt a DevOps culture and mindset in deploying new features, in smaller increments, on a more frequent basis.  The combination of a DevOps culture and cloud computing from Amazon Web Services enables tighter collaboration and increased transparency between developer and operations (DevOps) teams.  Furthermore, combining AWS and DevOps not only accelerates the deployment and delivery of software from an IT perspective, it also unleashes a powerful continuous innovation pipeline for your organization from a business standpoint.

If you use software or feature releases as a proxy for the delivery of innovation, the speed in which you deliver quality and feature-rich releases to market will be key in creating innovation for your firm. When you can release your software in a more continuous fashion, version numbers and yearly release cycles go out the window. Instead, your customers will enjoy the full potential of your platform, and stay with the platform knowing that updates and upgrades are on their way. This increased responsiveness to your customers will lead to an increase in market share for your company.

Additionally, security is no longer a gate to releasing code at the end of the development lifecycle. DevOps, or more namely, DevSecOps, enables security testing to be an integral part of the continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI|CD) process from end-to-end.  By automating every component for securing your server configurations with AWS CodeDeploy, and by creating and running tests through a continuous workflow using AWS CodePipeline, you can ensure compliance, quality, and reliability of your application stack as it goes through the DevOps pipeline.  Through DevOps on AWS, you can build validation, load, and penetration tests as a part of the delivery process, enabling you to test source code in an environment as a complete virtual replication of the production environment, without affecting production itself. You can then transition the new code using Blue/Green deployments. Since you deploy infrastructure as code with AWS, or through templates such as CloudFormation, your DevOps pipeline becomes a product in of itself, in which you can then push more products through your pipeline.

At REAN Cloud, we have a unique combination of skills and experience to help you implement DevSecOps AND move to the cloud.  We have helped other organizations with the research and analysis of their DevOps toolchain, developed comprehensive CI|CD pipelines on AWS for their product teams, and helped bring both development and operations teams together to deliver continuous innovation to their customers, and thereby increase market share for the organization itself.

Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] to see how we can assist you and accelerate innovation in your firm through DevOps and AWS.
