A good engineer is hard to find.
If you find one, you will know...
It will be obvious.
You will feel inspired, confident, and clear headed. You will feel seen and understood. You will feel like they are on your side, and willing to stick their neck out for you, and will have your back.
You will feel driven to perform better not because of some number or target or tangible reward, but because they make you feel like you can do anything, and you should, and you will excel and conquer any goal put in front of you. They take initiative. Take charge. No job is beneath them, and no job is too big.
You believe in them.
They will have not just an idea, but a vision, and that vision will excite you, and you will want to be part of it, not just because that vision is exciting but because they have made you feel that you belong to that vision - that you are a part of that vision - and are therefore paramount to achieving it.
Their passion is infectious, obsessive, all-consuming, a raging fire more powerful than a thousand suns. and thats ok. No one ever built anything great on meh.
