"Money flows where attention goes."
As we wrap up September and our focus on the theme of Awareness, let’s consider a powerful quote from Grant Cardone: “Money flows where attention goes.”
In business, attention is key. ?? Without it, even the best products or services won’t generate sales.
If people don’t know about you, your business won’t thrive.
Awareness comes into play.
Think about the brands you recognize instantly: McDonald’s, Amazon, Honda, Discover, etc. They’ve mastered awareness and made themselves household names through strong branding and messaging. As small business owners, you don’t have the big budgets those companies enjoy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t build your brand awareness effectively.
You need only two things:
Let’s take a closer look:
?Step 1: Awareness
When you capture the attention of your audience, you start building trust. People want to feel understood, and when you show them that you grasp their challenges, they’ll naturally look to you for a solution. As the saying goes, “If your story describes their problem better than they can, they will assume you have the best solution.”

You create awareness by using the tools available to you. Social media is a powerful platform for making yourself visible. It’s not enough to post occasionally; you need to be intentional with your content. Show your audience that you understand their problems and present your solution clearly.
Here’s an important stat: Nearly 50% of your potential customers will view 4-5 pieces of content before they engage with you. That’s why content marketing has grown so much and continues to expand. Whether your business is brick-and-mortar or fully online, a strong digital presence is a must.
?Step 2: Be Consistent
The secret to success is consistency. Publishing content sporadically won’t cut it. You need a system in place to ensure your target market sees your content regularly. Consistency builds momentum and awareness over time.
?Don't Be Like "Bob"
Don’t be like “Bob,” a client of mine from years ago. Bob believed marketing didn’t work. After some probing, I discovered that he had tried a postcard campaign once. ???? He sent one postcard and, when the phone ?? didn’t start ringing, he gave up. This is exactly where many small business owners fail—they lack the persistence required to see results.
The reality is, the payoff from marketing is rarely immediate. You must keep at it, - even when you’re busy with other projects. Pushing your marketing to the back burner is the fastest way to kill momentum and miss out on growing your market’s awareness.
Awareness is the first step in the ACE formula. Master it, and you’ll set yourself up for greater success.
