Awareness continues to reach consumers
Credit Union Awareness continues to be a pillar of our Financial Well-being for All work and connected more than 10,000 consumers with a participating credit union in the final months of 2022 alone.?
We had 16 million consumers visit the YourMoneyFurther website?in 2022, including 365,000 to the credit union locator/matcher tool.?
The average visitor to the YourMoneyFurther website spent more than three minutes on the site in 2022 (up from 37 seconds in 2021), and the No. 1 search was financial counseling and education. Sixty percent of visitors are between 18-34, and 92% of visitors were on a mobile device.?
The most read articles on the website are the difference between a bank and credit union; tips for saving money; and how to invest.?
That’s more data showing that consumers are hungry for the credit union difference, and Credit Union Awareness is finding them.?
Financial Well-being for All means being proactive in finding future generations of credit union members, and Credit Union Awareness is making that happen.?
Celebrating Women’s History Month
March commemorates Women’s History Month, and Credit Union Magazine spoke to three credit union leaders who shared stories of the women who shaped them. Lily Newfarmer, president/CEO of Tarrant County’s Credit Union; Heather Walker, CEO of Advanz Credit Union; and Jan Page, president/CEO of Community South Credit Union, shared inspiring stories of the women who raised them.?

Foundation releases impact report
The National Credit Union Foundation released its 2022 impact report covering a year where the credit union movement took great strides in our Financial Well-being for All commitment. Last year’s highlights include the creation of a new FinHealth Fund, reaching more than 1,500 people through its learning experiences, and distributing more than $591,000 in disaster relief grants.
Credit Union House elects board, inducts 23 into Hall of Leaders
Congratulations to the 2023-24 Credit Union House Board of Directors, and the 23 leaders inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders. Credit Union House has been our movement’s home on Capitol Hill for 21 years, and it’s always a pleasure to recognize those who have helped it become what it is today, and who will lead it into the future.?
Cybersecurity Conference set for June 6-8
Forty-seven percent of all businesses suffered some form of cyberattack in 2022, and the CUNA Cybersecurity Conference with the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors will provide a credit union-specific look at the latest threats and trends. The conference is June 6-8 in New Orleans, and attendees can choose breakout sessions based on the track that best fits their needs.?
