AWARE NI Newsletter: World Suicide Prevention Day

It's World Suicide Prevention Day.

And?AWARE NI is?participating in the 'Start The Conversation' theme. As a mental health charity, we strongly believe in the power of talking; opening up about what is going on in your mind to someone you trust can empower and encourage you to know you are not alone.

A good conversation may even help you get your head above water and remind you that there is hope for recovery from mental illness!

AWARE NI offer free-to-attend mental health support groups all around our country, providing a safe and secure environment for you to talk about what you are going through to people who are on a similar journey.

START A CONVERSATION TODAY!

Conversation starters with someone you are concerned about:

"What's the craic - are you alright? How are you really?"
"You seem a wee bit overwhelmed. I also feel like that at times. What's going on?"
"You seem to have a lot on your mind lately. Would you be up for chatting to me about any of it?"?

And we're always here to listen at our free-to-attend mental health support groups or through our support mail service.

AWARE mental health support groups can help you find a sense of community and belonging. Find your nearest one at: aware-ni.org/support-groups/

"I've been feeling a bit low recently. Can I chat with you about it?"
"Sometimes it all just gets too much, and I've heard it helps to chat. Would you be free for a wee chat at some stage?"
"I'm really finding it tough with my mental health, and I remember you went through something similar. Can I chat with you about how I'm feeling?"
