Before civilization, physical activity was a matter of survival. Eating wholesome foods was not by choice, as fast foods and processed foods were nonexistent. It is no wonder that our great forefathers lived for several hundred years. Due to modernization and industrialization, physical activity has become a luxury, and eating wholesome foods has become unpopular.

According to an article published by the World Health Organization in 2016, 39% of the world’s population was overweight, and 13% of that was obese. This is a drastic increase in overweight statistics over the years. Though there are various contributing factors, a lack of a consistently healthy lifestyle is one of the main causes of this near-global epidemic.??

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) can be caused by several factors, but the cause of concern here is Physical Inactivity. According to the World Health Organization, 41 million people die every year from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease etc. These diseases have invaded our society and the world; do you know someone who died from any of these diseases? If yes, then that’s your evidence right there! The awful fact about NCDs is that it takes life from your years before eventually taking years from your life.?
