Awards will help you (and your client)

This article has links to the Awards that I have been presented.

When the Award is based upon an analysis of numerous papers and presentations it is publicly important.

The event will promote the Award, due to its criticality, but it is a wonderful motivation to continue researching new ideas. These ideas would be justified in funding and team consideration.

Track Awards

I had two conference Awards; Hardware Track and Application Track. Take a look at these and consider how you can advance these ideas further?

Two conference Awards given for unique thinking.

2003 - Best Paper in Applications Track

This paper described a study that PRICE Systems had completed on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) in the calibration and population of the PRICE KnowledgeNetwork. The data represents a small proportion of the total database that the United Kingdom (UK) Ministry of Defence (MOD), Pricing and Forecasting Group (PFG) held with regards to Naval, Land and Air systems, sub-systems and equipment.

The paper reviews the processes used, methods applied and conclusions that resulted.

2006 - Best Paper in Hardware Track

This paper described a case study regarding how to establish validated and verified historical project data, identify Cost Drivers, establish meaningful Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs) for early conceptual designs and option trade studies and one method of high level model implementation.

The paper described the UK MOD PFG needed to implement cost models for programme assurance purposes and would explain how PRICE Systems could develop a solution through cost research suitable for early conceptual costing. The objective of the study was to obtain a cost model that enables high level summary cost predictions at the concept phase, utilising platform specific performance parameters (Cost Drivers) relevant to the generic system types.

The technique is transferable and equally applicable to commercial or government organisations wishing to develop their own cost models or implement existing ones.

Freiman Award

In addition to the joint conference best paper competition, four individuals were honored by receiving society award at the St. Louis 2009 conference banquet.

St. Louis 2009 Conference significant awards

I earned the Frank Freiman Award, ISPA's highest honour. This award is presented to an individual who has:

  • made outstanding contributions to the theoretical, or
  • applied aspects of parametric modelling, or
  • cost estimating, promotion of parametric, or
  • applications of parametric over a significant amount of time.

Freimen Award

I have been inspired to write papers to present in the cost estimating environment. Over the last 30+ years I have developed cost estimating for my network of hundreds of staff; both in private and government.
