Introduction

Al Diriyah Art Oasis, winner of numerous accolades such as the ‘Concept of the Year’ in Iconic Awards 2016 as well as in Rethinking the Future Awards 2022, wanted to revamp their office space. They knew they needed a stylish yet functional solution that reflected that creative spirit and matched their vision. Moreover, they also wanted separate spaces for different teams and maximum utilization of the office area that is at par with the same high standards they maintain for exhibitions and community outreach programs.

In order to bring this vision to life, mainly of achieving the maximum acoustic rating for privacy between workstations, we worked closely with the Interior Designers - Schiattarella Associati and had a brainstorming session to understand the design concept and how it would be implemented on the project using our versatile range of partition system, mock-ups in terms of what would be the best fit, samples and selection of finishes and had a lot of open and transparent communication in ensuring that the client’s vision for their office is achieved.

Solution

The solution we proposed was Acoustic double-glazed partition system offering a 46dB acoustic rating integrated with our slim single-glazed partitions, without compromising on the aesthetics and functionality of the workspace. The minimal aluminum frames maximized natural lighting, which provided subtle division between areas, making the space look more open and fulfilling one of the key project requirements. From an aesthetics perspective, our partition system complemented the modular office design with its sleek aluminum profiles and large expanses of glass, creating an open yet defined arrangement of work areas, meeting rooms, and social spaces. We also wanted to ensure that the overall workspace had an airy and spacious feel, thus providing visual separation through our sleek glazed doors.

What worked out well was the flexibility of our Office Partition system that allowed reconfiguration of the layout, as needed. Panels and doors could be added, removed, or repositioned to alter the size and use of space, making this an easy, cost-effective process without any major demolition or rebuild. Since the client was keen and particular about the acoustics in their workspace, our acoustic double-glazed system with framed double-glazed doors, featuring drop seals to maintain acoustic integrity, seamlessly matched the door design with the partitions. This configuration provided both acoustic performance and visual consistency. For areas where space was a concern, we used seamless and slim single-glazed partitions with frameless single-glazed doors, maintaining the same sleek design and configuration throughout.

The combination of Gibca double-glazed demountable partitions along with matching glazed doors gave Al Diriyah Art Oasis offices an ultra-modern yet highly functional design and the acoustics performance and flexibility resolved key issues within the space.

With our demountable partition systems and glazed doors installed, the offices of Al Diriyah Art Oasis have truly been transformed. The sleek, minimalistic design of our glass partition system allows natural light to filter through, creating an open and airy feel while still providing the highest level of acoustics for privacy.
