Northdoor plc, a leading IT consultancy, is delighted to have won the Security Solution of the Year at the 2020/21 IT Europa European IT and Software Excellence Awards. The award recognises the work the Northdoor team has undertaken with the Salvation Army with its RiskXchange solution.
In a world of increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, the Salvation Army turned to Northdoor as a trusted IT and cyber-security advisor who recommended RiskXchange to help identify potential weaknesses within its supply chain and partner network. Too often supply chains offer an ‘easy’ way in for cyber-criminals which negates any investment in cyber defence made by the lead company. Indeed, much of the investment made by companies in cyber-security does not always add in the adequate layers of front line defence anyway. Organisations are often badly advised and have limited insight into where the real vulnerabilities lie.
The innovative RiskXchange solution from Northdoor offers a 360° view of potential vulnerabilities enabling companies to make informed decisions about their partners and close any security gaps.
Richard Hartill, Client and Partner Manager at Northdoor said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised for our work with the Salvation Army. As we have seen over the past couple of years charities and the not for profit sector are certainly not off limits for cyber criminals, who do not care what a huge impact their actions have upon some of the most vulnerable in our society.
“Therefore, it was imperative, that the Salvation Army was confident that its systems and information were as secure as they could be. RiskXchange provided access to a comprehensive 360° view of the organisations’ internal and third-party risk. It ensured that weaknesses were highlighted allowing security gaps to be closed.
“Not only does this mean defences are as secure as possible, but also helps to ensure adherence to GDPR. The threat from cyber criminals is only increasing. Giving organisations a complete view of potential vulnerabilities internally and via third parties could be the difference between remaining secure and allowing a cyber-criminal in through the back-door,” concluded Hartill.
Miguel Fiallos, CIO of the Salvation Army, said: “We are thrilled with the RiskXchange solution that has been provided to us by Northdoor. Ensuring that our third-party supply chain is secure is of paramount importance to us and whereas it used to take weeks and in some cases months to complete lengthy third-party vendor assessments, it now takes us hours. Northdoor has helped us to streamline the process, saving valuable time and money, which we can re-invest into helping people in need.
“The Automated Security Ratings and Assessments solution that RiskXchange provides helps us facilitate sometimes tricky security analysis with our suppliers, making it an integral part of our vendor risk management program,”?concluded Fiallos.
