AVS in shipbuilding: a new era for the industry in the Lévis and Chaudière-Appalaches region.

Thanks to major investments by the Quebec government in the modernization of the Davie shipyard, the shipbuilding sector is gearing up for significant expansion in the years ahead.

To meet the industry's growing needs, the Centre de services scolaire des Navigateurs has been mandated to develop a shipbuilding vocational program leading to an Attestation of Vocational Studies (AVS).

"This industry is currently growing rapidly, and this trend will continue over the next few decades," says Benoit Chassé , Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Davie. "The program will be an essential component in enabling Davie and companies in the shipbuilding sector to achieve their hiring goals in the years to come."

This initiative, supported by a number of major players in the marine industry, including the Comité sectoriel de main-d'oeuvre de l'industrie maritime , the Comité sectoriel de la main-d'oeuvre dans la fabrication métallique industrielle ( PERFORM ), Groupe Océan / Ocean Group , Chantier Naval Forillon , DAWCO , Descimco , Charl-Pol and Davie, is the fruit of exemplary collaboration between government, education and industry.
