Difference in ideologies/opinions lead to conflicts and quarrels. That is not to say that there is no escape from this deplorable situation however, human mind is a very complex thing. Many a times we get emotionally attached to a thought or an idea and when it doesn’t find acceptance or is questioned, the concerned individual entangles himself in the web of conflicting situations. Those who manage to keep themselves away depending upon their maturity are far and few in between. This holds true not only for individuals, but for nations as well.
Most quarrels start with verbal exchanges that grow heated. People over-react and become hostile to each other. Their retaliatory thinking often results in full-fledged enmity later on. There is hardly any aspect of human life that remains unaffected by this abrasive behaviour. Negative action is the result of negative thinking.
Negative emotions should be countered in a positive manner. The best principle to follow is that whenever you encounter any unpleasant situation, think carefully before speaking or acting. Verbal exchanges can snowball into more serious conflicts. We should make every effort to solve the problem at hand, but confine ourselves to resolving it by discussion. Even if our feelings are hurt, remember there is no real harm, only imaginary one & reacting on imaginary grounds would not be wise. Bruised egos have wreaked more havoc than the unimaginative minds looking for an alternative. Confrontation is only effective if it is perceived as concern, then it assumes threauptic relationship.
Golden rule is to Exercise restraint, Ignore provocation, Keep yourself calm, Take deep breathe and count to ten and lastly, if you could sleep over it you’ve a changed perspective the next day - it works....try it. It did for me….for sure!!!!

6 年Absolutely bang on dear Tarun. These situations we all come across in our lives & we complicate it further due to our egoistic & negative attitude. You have put across this situation & how to overcome it very well. Very nicely articulated, very thoughtfully drafted, very realistic & can be easily followed/ implemented in our respective lives too. Highly appreciate & compliment your thought & logic. Well done & keep it up.
