Avoiding Competition
Have you realized that you are running in a distinct lane, completely different from your peers? Have you yet realized that God designed you to fulfill destiny in a very special way that may not be consistent with that of the people around you who are also trying to fulfill destiny?
In God's kingdom, there is absolutely no room for comparison and competition. The moment you discover you're beginning to compare yourself with others, you have stepped down from the wisdom level of God. What you're operating at that point is mere intellect.
The Dangers of Comparison
2 Corinthians 10:12
[12] For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
Let’s see how it’s rendered in The Living Bible:
2 Corinthians 10:12 (TLB)
[12] Oh, don’t worry, I wouldn’t dare say that I am as wonderful as these other men who tell you how good they are! Their trouble is that they are only comparing themselves with each other and measuring themselves against their own little ideas. What stupidity!
The intellect, as powerful as it is, can only solve natural problems. Once the natural is interfered with by the supernatural, the intellect is found wanting. It cannot interpret the language of the supernatural.
A sign that you're operating at God's wisdom level is that you're stable in confidence. You appreciate and celebrate the success of others if it is coming from God, but you're not moved to change God's template for your own life. Success, for you, is being able to accomplish what God sent you to accomplish, regardless of whether it is spectacular in the eyes of men or not.
Stay Aligned with God's Purpose: Trust His Timing and Path
Learn today to be fixed in faith and refuse to be affected by the waves. Has God said anything to you? Then hold fast. There is nothing as bad as a believer losing his alignment with God. It can throw you into the wilderness of confusion and shut you out of grace. And what is a believer without grace?
Comparison and competition leave you in this dilemma. In God's kingdom, we don't compete. We have distinct roles to play and different pathways to fulfill this mission. We all have our season of appearance, and they’re not the same dates. You may be classmates but have different seasons of appearance.
If God refuses to change the wilderness experience you're going through, find out what He's willing to do in this particular season of your life and follow. If prayer cannot change it, then it definitely is the safest for you at the moment. He won't let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. It is better to stay in the wilderness with God by your side than to work your way out without God's backing.
When it is time, nothing will stop your appearance. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Conclusion
These are the consequences of comparison and competition — it will make you try to run faster than God wants you to at the moment, and that's not safe for you. What has God asked you to do that others are not doing? Please do it and don't be distracted.?
What are others doing that you know is not consistent with God's pattern (instruction set) for your destiny? Please avoid it. What they're doing may not necessarily be sinful, but it is not within God's instruction set for your life.
If you must arrive at your unique destiny, you must learn to be unique. The moment you realize this, you will gain back alignment and momentum. Don't let the achievements of others distract you. Cling to God. Maintain your pace.
I wish you a blessed week of all possibilities.
