Avoid these RED FLAGS when setting goals
Thanks to all of you who attended my goal setting masterclass yesterday.
One thing EVERYONE agreed on was that they had experienced what I refer to as red flags when having goals set for them or when they agreed goals with others.
So what's a red flag?
It's when someone writes down a fake goal - often by describing something vague and/or the run up to the goal rather than the goal itself.
To me if you want a decent goal template, think of a goal as a what by when but NOT the how.
The pic shows some examples of lazy, vague fake goals. If you ask the question 'so that what?' in relation to these fake goals, you'll get nearer to the actual goals.
Show your team some care and respect by setting them up for success rather than ticking a box and if you need help let me know.
If you'd like my one pager of examples of how to turn fake goals into real ones, let me know and I'll send you it.
