Behind every business and every professional, there is a story and you need to write your own. According to Vusi Thembekwayo, an acclaimed business entrepreneur and global speaker, when you design a story to tell people to try to follow these four steps reliable process:

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

Ask yourself this question anytime you create a value proposition and you want to communicate with people. Make it clear to the person with whom you are communicating so they also can identify the problem easily.

It is exactly the same as in a commercial movie. If in the first seven minutes of the movie you do not establish who is a good guy and who is a bad guy, you lose interest.

You need to also amplify why this process is urgent and that they need to fix it right now. Urgent means actions and you want them to do something. Subscribe, follow, buy etc etc.

WHAT IS THE COST OF NOT SOLVING THE PROBLEM?

Make it a proper cost like this is a problem and it is huge. Tell them that if they do not do anything about it, ‘x’ consequences will happen and they will be very negative for them.

WHY ARE YOU THE BEST PERSON TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM?

This is all about your credibility as in an absence of it, no one is listening. So when you have credibility? You have it when people start to build their profile using yours. Then you do not need to show up to any fight as you will choose what is worth fighting for.

Show qualifications, accreditations etc etc Do it on the home page of your website. Communicate it clearly as you should tell and they need to know why you are the best person to do it.

WHAT IS THE ACTION I WANT YOU TO TAKE?

You need to close the deal, need to be an action item. On the website, each section should end with ‘if you are interested in this click here.’ Get them to commit in the meeting and never leave the meeting until the second meeting is confirmed.
