SEA Airport Names Arif Ghouse New Chief Operating Officer
After a competitive and thorough hiring process, the Port of Seattle has named Arif Ghouse as the new Chief Operating Officer for Seattle-Tacoma Inernational Airport (SEA). The role of COO will lead significant projects and initiatives, including Operational Readiness Activation and Transition, Art and Innovation functions, and will be working closely with all aviation departments to provide guidance and support.
Ghouse is joining SEA after eight successful years as the Airport Director of Paine Field/Snohomish County Airport (PAE) and is joining SEA during a time of historic construction and modernization. The airport is underway with a five-year, $4.3 billion capital project program called?Upgrade SEA, a campaign to help passengers prepare for construction impacts from the curb to the gate. This follows the successful openings of major projects in the?International Arrivals Facility?and the?N Concourse Expansion and Modernization.
The Truckee Tahoe Airport District Appoints Jeff Menasco as Director of Aviation
The Truckee Tahoe Airport District has named Jeff Menasco as Director of Aviation for Truckee Tahoe Airport (TRK). Reporting to the General Manager, Mr. Menasco will manage the day-to-day operations for TRK. He began his new position on January 30, 2023.
Mr. Menasco brings 12 years of executive level leadership in operations and aviation to this position. He recently retired from the United States Air Force, most recently serving as Air Mobility Command, Deputy Director of Operations at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. In that position, he led 11 headquarter divisions, 15 operating locations and more than 500 people.
Coastal Carolina Regional Airport Hires New Operations Manager Patrick Manzo
Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN)?has hired Patrick Manzo as its new Airport Operations Manager.
Manzo, who held the interim operations manager position, will be primarily responsible for Airfield and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Operations. Manzo, who also worked as an operations specialist at EWN, has a B.S. in Aviation Management, is an Airport Certified Employee in Airport Operations and maintains his ARFF qualification.
The Naples Airport Authority Appoints Noah Dietrich as Development Project Manager
The Naples Airport Authority has named Noah Dietrich as Development Project Manager to administer and manage the planning, design and construction of facilities, structures, roadways, runways and other airport systems for Naples Airport (APF). He began his new position on January 11, 2023.
With a background in aviation engineering and project management, Mr. Dietrich most recently was a Project Engineer with DeAngelis Diamond Construction where he managed a major renovation of a golf course clubhouse, restaurant and pro shop. He also worked for Tetra Tech Canada, Airports Group, where he handled project proposal writing, engineering budget negotiation, preparing engineering change orders, project budgeting and invoicing.

The Clark County Department of Aviation Appoints Monika Bertaki as Chief Aviation Marketing Officer
The Clark County Department of Aviation has named Monika Bertaki as Chief Aviation Marketing Officer for Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and its sister General Aviation airports. In this position, Ms. Bertaki will be responsible for print and media materials, branding and social media, and media events. She began her new position on January 23, 2023.
Ms. Bertaki brings a strong background in public relations and marketing, most recently serving as Marketing & Creative Supervisor for the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. In that role, she oversaw all brand creative for the agency and developed all social media content. Previously, she was the Public Relations Specialist for Caesars Entertainment.
The City of Livermore Appoints Michael Musca, A.A.E., as Airport Manager
The City of Livermore has named Michael Musca, A.A.E., as Airport Manager for Livermore Municipal Airport (LVK). Reporting to the Public Works Director, Mr. Musca is the division head responsible for overseeing and managing LVK. He began his new position on January 16, 2023.
With a wide range of experience and leadership in commercial airports and general aviation airfields, Mr. Musca most recently was Director of Properties with Tucson Airport Authority where he managed property leasing and management activities for the Authority at Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield. Previously, Mr. Musca served as Assistant Director of Aviation for Fresno Yosemite International Airport and held leadership roles at Sacramento International Airport, Stockton Metropolitan Airport and held Airport Manager roles with Modesto Airport and Pease International Tradeport.
City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation Announces Konstantinos “Gus” Tsakos as Deputy Director of Internal Audit and Compliance
The City of Philadelphia Department of Aviation, operator of Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) has announced Konstantinos “Gus” Tsakos as the Deputy Director of Internal Audit and Compliance. Tsakos was most recently Deputy Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (PICA), a state oversight agency for the City of Philadelphia, responsible for reviewing and considering the City’s annual five year financial and strategic plan.
For the Department of Aviation, Tsakos oversees the Airport’s Audit Unit and is responsible for developing and implementing an effective internal audit function that provides objective assurance and internal consulting services designed to add value and improve airport operations. He leads a team of auditors responsible for annually complying with federal mandated audit requirements, ensuring vendor and concessionaire contract compliance, conducting internal control reviews of airport operations, and coordinating responses to financial statement and Single Audit opinion audits.
Tyler Ranf Joins Thornton Tomasetti as Vice President, Aviation Sector Leader for the West Region
Tyler Ranf, a specialist in the design and management of aviation projects, has joined Thornton Tomasetti’s Structural Engineering practice. Working from the San Francisco office, the new vice president will serve as aviation sector leader for the West region and will focus on a broad range of new construction, expansion and modernization projects.
Tyler holds bachelor’s degrees in physics and civil engineering from University of Puget Sound and Washington University, respectively. He also has a master’s degree in civil engineering and Ph.D. in structural engineering, both from the University of Washington. He is a licensed professional engineer and licensed structural engineer in several states in the West and Midwest.
