The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Names Brian Basener Director of Concessions
The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority has named Brian Basener Director of Concessions for Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
In this position, he will assist with concessions planning for the airport, growing non-aeronautical revenue and developing new revenue sources. He began his new role on January 2, 2024.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission Names Alison Kelly as Labor and Employee Relations Manager
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) has selected Alison Kelly to serve as labor and employee relations manager. The MAC owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six reliever airports in the Twin Cities.??
Kelly will manage a comprehensive labor relations program and will be responsible for negotiating and administering the MAC’s 13 collective bargaining agreements. Altogether, the collective bargaining agreements cover 50% of the MAC’s total workforce of 750. ?
WAA Welcomes New Leadership to Board of Directors
Winnipeg Airports Authority is excited to announce the appointment of Susan Dawes as Chair and Ian Smart as Vice Chair of its Board of Directors. The change in leadership comes following the conclusion of Brita Chell’s term, which included the role of Chair over the past four years.
Dawes has been a member of WAA’s Board of Directors since 2018, having most recently held the position of Vice Chair and Chair of the Human Resources & Compensation Committee. A partner at Myers LLP practicing exclusively in labour and administrative law, Dawes is counsel in arbitrations and Labour Board matters, and has appeared before superior courts across the country, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
The City of Idaho Falls Names Ian Turner, A.A.E. Executive Director of Idaho Falls Airport
The City of Idaho Falls has named Ian Turner, A.A.E. Executive Director of Idaho Falls Airport Department (IDA), receiving an appointment from Mayor Rebecca Casper. The Idaho Falls City Council approved Mr. Turner’s appointment at the City Council Meeting. As Executive Director, Mr. Turner will be responsible for the administration, planning, organizing, directing and controlling of all financial and operational activities at IDA. He will begin his new role on February 1, 2024.
MidAmerica St. Louis Airport Names Darren James as Airport Director and Hires New Assistant Airport Director
The St. Clair County Public Building Commission (PBC), which oversees the operations at MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (BLV) in Mascoutah, Ill., has announced that Darren James has officially been named Airport Director after serving as interim in the position since August 23. In the wake of his promotion, the PBC also announced that Jennifer Hogancamp has been hired to serve as Assistant Airport Director, a position previously held by James. The two will work together to continue to grow the airport’s passenger and cargo operations.
