Be Available...

Be Available...

What's ONE THING you can do less of in order for you to become more productive (the promise of this short weekly article)?

The short idea in this article -- and it might seem counter-intuitive -- is to be available.

The Problem:?I Am Never Available

This week, imagine you and I are at some huge-mega-concert somewhere.

Where? And who are we there to see (besides each other and 60,000+ of our closest "friends" crazy enough to experience this with us lol)?

ME: "Hey, how are you?"

YOU: "I am never available."

Being available means you've got to also be super-intentional about your time (see this "Time Blocking" idea I wrote about a while ago).

I am not ever super busy. And. This is not by accident (well, unless I over-commit and yeah, this happens every once in a while lol).

How?

I've gotten good at saying no AND being available to say yes.

So.

Whenever I get the feeling of, "I'm not available" it's usually a signal that I need to be available once again.

Sounds weird, right?

Try it (and let me know how it goes).

And...

The Actionable Tip: Be Available

Why not?

Yeah... you might be busy; however, watch and observe what happens when YOU make room to "Be Available" to others in your world.

Want to discuss this topic more (really)?

I'm available (see if any time at calendar.mvizdos.com work for you OR send me a Direct Message here and we can coordinate a time together).

NO "solicitations" please.

In the comments below, please share?ONE?actionable tip how you can "Become Available" in order to do less and become more productive.

I'm available. With boundaries.

Thank you,

Michael Vizdos

Leaders must schedule “white space” daily in their schedules. This allows for time to handle what “pops up” that needs attention or time for reflection on the day, perhaps a time to rearrange priorities.

I am always working to simplify...personally & professionally. I find that by avoiding or eliminating complexity, & simplifying, I can be available. In the words of Leo Babauta, author and Founder of Zen Habits: "Simplicity boils down to two steps: Identify the essential. Eliminate the rest."
