AV-Playback Version 2 Available Soon!

AV-Playback Version 2 Available Soon!

It’s been a while since I have last written, the reason is because we have been working feverishly on the version 2 release of AV-Playback. This is going to be a major update. To start with the video engine was totally rebuilt from the ground up. The one very significant change is that the engine is now truly multi-layered. This means you will finally have true crossfades, as well as the ability to overlay either still image graphics or live image capture, via either DeckLink or any other recognized capture device. You will also be able to combine other elements in the playlist (video / audio clips, image capture and still image files) together and play them as one.

To support the manipulation of each of these layers there will be a robust array of geometry and proc adjustments. Here is a list:

(Geometry)

1)     X & Y position, X & Y scale

2)     Independent 4-sided clipping (which scales with the fill size.)

3)     3D projection (X, Y & Z rotation)

4)     2D Rotation (center point is adjustable)

5)     X & Y skewing

6)     8 point warping (This is a work in progress. Will soon after have, provide update for unlimited point selection. Perfect for 3d mapping.)

(Proc Adjustments)

1)     Opacity

2)     Brightness

3)     Contrast

4)     Chroma

5)     Hue

6)     Gamma offset(all) and separate gamma for red, green and blue.

Here is the complete list of all the other new features you can look forward to:

Fully interactive previewing control located directly within the playlist window. This now means the preview display in the confidence window will now serve as full motion playback of any clip currently in standby. You will also be able to use the timeline punch markers to set in and out points even while another clip is being played out to program. You can also assign a separate audio output to the preview bus and listen with a backstage monitor or ear buds, without disturbing the program’s audio output.

OSD for both program and preview confidence monitor displays. Showing clip title, elapsed time, countdown time and current transport status.

Support for ingesting or outputting via NDI. This includes the confidence monitor window. Now you can give the director or anyone else their own confidence multi-view.

Time Tags: With these markers you can more easily keep track of specific time points within the playing of a clip. When the time display is in tag mode, it will provide countdowns to each one. This way the operator can call out countdowns during playback for any needed stage hand cues.

Choice to either display thumbnails for each clip (as in above photo) or simplify the playlist grid and show thumbnails only when right clicking on the clip’s playlist row.

Save adjusted clip properties as selectable treatments. Making it easy to paste those treatments to other media elements within the playlist.

Adjustable Fast Forward and Slow-Motion playback speeds.

Easy to use separate set punch in and punch out buttons. Enabling quick setting of those points.

Quick Go-To in and out point buttons.

Improved tracking of scrub movements. (NOTE: Still depends on file type. MOV’s provide best performance.)

Support for AMCP remote control protocols.

Support for ASIO multi-channel audio, with built in channel assignment matrix.

Redesigned MCS5 control surface interface. Now one control surface can communicate with multiple AV-Playback instances individually or simultaneously. Depending on your workstation setup, if you use a desktop you can use an Adrian brand SMPTE timecode generator/receiver to synchronize multiple workstations to work together for multi screened presentations.

Support for X-Key type Playback-Pro remote controls. Now you can use those controllers also to control AV-Playback.

Proven ability to run from a Windows boot-camped MacBook Pro.

Update will still be a free upgrade for all current license owners.

We are shooting for a release within the next two to three weeks.

It seems to me I may have left a couple things out. Well at any rate this should prove that we are totally committed to the further advancement our AV-Playback product, with each leading up to the release of our Legion media server later this year.

Buy with confidence, knowing that we have always got your back.
