AV News #23
Since 2023 has ended, we want to let you in on Aquavape’s insights and statistics on our best-selling flavours and brands. With innovation hitting the market, Aquavape have kept up to date with trends by supplying high-quality, best-selling vapes that are fully TPD-compliant, whilst advocating for appropriate vape recycling and actively standing against the black market.
This year, we hope that 2024 is the year for innovation and for illegal vapes to be mostly, if not wholly, abolished. After a year full of speculation and uncertainty, it comes as no surprise that the changing industry trends have certainly been reflected in our data as innovation paves the way, and recycling becomes more important for customers and retailers alike.
Over the year, there has been considerable growth in the vape category of £897.4m in sales in the retail channel. On the other hand, cigarettes/cigars and loose tobacco have seen a drastic decline in sales value by a combined £1.2billion.*
* Recent Data from NielsenIQ (NIQ).
If we look at what has been trending over the last 6 months, our data shows that SKE Crystal Plus, Lost Mary, and IVG have shown the most growth in overall vape sales; this shows that innovation and convenience are working.
IVG 2400 is starting to grow as it competes with illegal big puff disposables. Retailers should watch out for innovative products like this, as well as the Instaflow 4500 hybrid disposable, a rechargeable vape with a self-filling tank; this new hybrid disposable is the world's first 4500 puff device. With a 10ml built-in refill container and 2ml tank, it is the world’s first TPD-compliant and MHRA-approved hybrid vape.

After analysing our data, Lost Mary has come out on top for fruit flavours and tobacco flavours, Elf Bar for beverage flavours, and SKE Crystal Plus has perfected the confectionary and menthol flavours.?
With the IVG 2400, our data shows us that multi-flavour devices are becoming more popular.
What we can gather from this data is that fruit dominates the flavour category across all brands (including menthol x fruit mixtures), whereas beverage and confectionary flavours are declining.

We are also starting to see bolder fruit-flavoured profiles such as Pineapple Ice beginning to trend and emerge into the top flavours. Across all four brands, tobacco and menthol flavours have been at a low consistent level, with menthol ranging anywhere from 0.5% to 1.5%, meanwhile, tobacco is even lower at around 0.1% to 0.6%.
