Autumn Harvest has Begun!

Fall is here which means plants are drying down, and harvest is upon us. Within this month's newsletter, you'll find a summer recap section from our processing sales team to give their outlook on yields, highlighted varieties, and future opportunities within our various product offerings. We've also included some of the upgrades going on and how they will positively affect breeding outcomes in the future. We hope you enjoy this snippet of what our team is up to and what we're looking forward to after a busy summer!?

Congratulations Kirsten and Hayes!

Elna Dorothy DeLong was born September 6th to Kirsten and Hayes DeLong. She is a bright and beautiful addition to this family of 4. Thane is a proud big brother and a great helper for his baby sister. We're excited for Kirsten and Hayes and this exciting new chapter!

Location Upgrades

Fast Breeding in the Winter

How can we have multiple?crops with different photoperiod and temperature requirements in the greenhouse at the same time? Multicolored lights with different wavelengths are placed in different sections! Peas are a cool season food legume. Beans are legumes that prefer a warmer temperature. In the past, each crop had to wait its turn which slowed the early breeding process. Or we had to place peas on a lower level underneath our tables, which was not very efficient either. We want to have the best products as soon as possible for our customers and are excited about these renovations. We will keep you in the loop.

Variety Highlight:

Bellerose, Tomato

Bellerose F1 is an indeterminate, medium-maturing 185-200 gram tomato. It has a round shape and a long shelf life. It performs well in both the open field and protected culture and is a great variety for canning or slicing.

- Ideal for slicing

- Superb flavor
