Autonomous Vehicle - A Human/Animal?
Driving is a Sense - A Sixth Sense and for a few it's the seventh sense - I call them experts in driving, definitely not mathematics. Will a vision of a machine or a camera(LiDar/Radar) do it all?
The autonomous driving industry is trying to prove its way possible. While the law of different countries is figuring out who will be liable for the accidents, is it the manufacturers or the driver of the car?
Will it be an F1 race track be the venue for the autonomous car or will the roads have to be human-free is the question from the infrastructure department to enable Autonomous driving?
Typical struggles during weather conditions faced by human drivers are not going to work with Autonomous vehicles - Rainy, Snow, and fog are clearly downtime for future autonomous solutions, as nothing is constant in such situations.
In spite of such major challenges, Silicon Valley and a few major cities in China have granted permission for such machines to do the mathematics of driving the car with a technology eye known as LiDar/Radar and equally few organisations like Gatik , ROBOTAXI LTD AutoX have capitalised on the solution to a limited markets
Thanks to the Data Annotation and labelling companies that are the backbone to enable Autonomous vehicles smarter on the roads to identify the object and reduce mishaps. Of course, Human in the loop assistance (HITL) is going to be a revolutionary solution for such autonomous automation to bring human sense to the machine to be a real and efficient driver
So leave the rest to the innovators who are trying to make this industry possible and thank all the patient investors who still have the hope of ROI at least by 2030.
