’ Auto Semi Index growth grind to a halt in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Still, ADI maintained its lead and while Qualcomm's momentum slowed, the company still posted quarter-on-quarter growth of 11.9%, pushing the company’s Auto Semi Index score up to 1.50 from 1.34 in the prior quarter and moving Qualcomm past Micron. In contrast, Micron maintained its negative run with the company’s Auto Semi Index score dropping from 1.35 to 0.99.
- Infineon pushed up to third place in the Auto Semi Index rankings despite a quarter-on-quarter drop in its score from 1.21 to 1.14.
- It was another strong showing from onsemi with the company outperforming its peers and posting quarter-on-quarter growth of 28.2%. The company’s Auto Semi Index score of 1.12 pushed the company into fourth place.
- STMicroelectronics also bucked the general trend with the company’s quarter-on-quarter growth of 20.2% increasing the company’s Auto Semi Index score from 0.73 to 0.88, reflecting continued growth through 2022.
- Renesas was not far behind with growth 20% allowing the company to make up ground lost in the previous quarter and pushing the company ahead of Texas Instruments into eighth place.
- NXP Auto Semi Index score for the final quarter of 2022 was flat, while Texas Instruments score dropped 9.5%.
- Rohm’s score for the final quarter was relatively robust, down only 1.5% respectively on the previous quarter.
The industry average Auto Semi Index score grew by just 3.5% to 1.03.
