AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY-A PERSPECTIVE

UNLEARN TO LEARN
The World is changing very fast and very frequently. We need to learn the new Tricks to keep up with the pace of change.
Learning of new things are seen as Key to success. However, the real challenge is our ability and enthusiasm to unlearn which is holding us back and has trapped our mind in a fixed box.
On the other hand, the need is THINK OUT OF BOX to find a solution to present and future concerns.
In general, the future Business plans are finalized based on the past history/ past performances without reviewing the past business environment with that of present /future so as to create a logical rationale. Therefore for Smart Marketers Out of Box Thinking, in this case, would be to finalize targets for increase in growth of Market Share to capture the growing market size or potentials .
We must remember that 'Past Performance is no Guarantee for Future Success;.
Unlearning can also be " Being Aware what we have learnt, which is no longer appropriate to handle the current or future situation, Therefore with gaining the new piece of knowledge we reinforce our existing knowledge and do not reinvent the wheel.
The absolute fact is that 'Innovation start with Challenging the Past'
Nature has also proven us time and again that only adaptable species lived and survived whereas those stuck with rigid form became extinct. The Same principle applies to professional growth.
We, therefore, need to be flexible, adaptive to changes and ready to learn to shed the rigid mindset. This is only possible if one agrees and convinced that there is scope to learn more than what we know. It is not easy to unlearn but not impossible to accept the change.
My own professional Marketing Experience of working with different product, different companies both MNCs & Indian Corporates in different market scenarios, taught me to keep adapting, learning new techniques and gaining knowledge continuously enabled me to continue to grow successfully and gracefully
I feel following steps can help us to unlearn the past to learn for future professional growth:
>SELF ACCEPTANCE -Accept that three is whole Undiscovered World
> EXPLORE NEW ASPIRATIONS -Identify new Area which keeps you inspired
> ACQUIRE NEW SKILLS - Spend Quality times to equip with new skill eg new Language, PowerPoint for better presentation, Excell for Analysis etc.
> MOVE OUT OF COMFORT ZONE - Travel, move out, meeting the customer, end user/end seller as they can be the real teacher for effective marketing .
As the Change is inevitable and is the only constant, one need to be ready to meet new challenge Unlearning is a tool for effective Learning as it helps to remove clutter from your mind which is no more required and develop you as Sharp, Decisive and Productive Professional.
