?? Latest Automotive News

China and Germany have signed a joint declaration to cooperate on autonomous and connected driving, which could see carmakers transfer data between the two countries. They will work together to develop shared standards and regulations for managing data, in order to save resources in development and production (Reuters).

Major automakers are forming partnerships to take advantage of the growing software-defined vehicle (SDV) market. Volkswagen Group's CEO recently said that the company is favoring 'big tech' partners, and BMW has announced that they are forming a joint venture with Tata Technologies to develop automotive software solutions for their vehicles (Automotive News Europe).

Sales of Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi's first electric car have been 3-5x higher than expected, according to CEO Lei Jun, as the company began delivering some of the vehicles ahead of schedule. The SU7 is being sold at an extremely competitive price, starting at less than $30,000 for the base model (Reuters).
