Automation using Ansible: Demo session

Really glad to be a part of the webinar “Industry Use case on automation using Ansible - Demo” delivered by the Sreejith Anujan and Arun Eapen CISSP, RHCA, RHCSS, RHCDS, RHCVA sir. Special thanks to LinuxWorld Informatics Pvt Ltd for arranging a wonderful session which I could be a part of.

The webinar was quite interesting and provided a lot of knowledge. To sum up the entire session in one article is almost impossible as a vast amount of information was provided, yet i am trying to summarize it in a few points which are of utmost importance:

--Ansible is simple open source IT engine which automates application deployment, intra service orchestration, cloud provisioning and many other IT tools.

--A job template is a definition and set of parameters for running an Ansible job.Job templates are useful to execute the same job many times.

--Ansible Tower is enterprise level tool used for web based applications with more use cases like scaling,High Availability,SCM integration with webhooks,CI-CD workflows ans also managing credentials.It has GUI dashboard providing environment for all workfloes,Inventory Status,Jobs Activites going on,Hosts and many more.

--Ansible Tower is a web-based solution for managing your organization with an easy user interface that provides a dashboard with all of the state summaries of all the hosts.And allows quick deployments, and monitors all configurations. Ansible Tower helps IT teams for doing tasks very easily and in less time and much more.

--Automation with Ansible and Terraform together can prove out terrible( in a positive way). They togetherly ca do woders, so their comparison is not welcomed.

--Ansible tool is an amazing tool everyone can learn it. Using Ansible we can perform many automation tasks like provisioning, configuration management,application deployment,etc.

-- Using an ansible tower we can maintain CI/CD pipelines. Live demo was shown by sir in the webinar related to the CI/CD pipeline using ansible and slack channel for communication between the IT team.
