The CMO Council believes dedicated MarTech management and digital transformation expertise appears to be maturing and more widely accepted, supported and represented in global organizations. CMOs have also made great progress closing the digital marketing skills gap. They should also be seeking more predictive outcomes from creative investments, and they need to deliver higher levels of automation, productivity and efficiency in internal and agency teams. Our study, conducted in partnership with Zeta Global to gain insights and predictions about MarTech, shows AI in the vanguard of a paradigm shift in MarTech adoption and use this year. In fact, our research showed that MarTech procurement intentions have made a massive swing to embracing new GenAI tools, applications and analytics. Building High Trust Marketing Teams

Building trust within a marketing team can be approached from two distinct perspectives: the inside-out approach, which focuses on internal dynamics, and the outside-in approach, which emphasizes external influences and customer feedback. The magic also happens when the need of the hour is cross-functional collaboration, says Ankoor Dasguupta, marketing practitioner and advocate of social impact. “From my experience, I’ve come up with five points which are the catalyst to building a high trust team using both approaches.” These are: Promote Open and Honest Communication, Encourage Cross-Functional Collaboration, Empower Team Members with Autonomy, Invest in Continuous Learning and Development, Celebrate Achievements and Milestones. Leveraging Data, Technology and AI for Marketers

Marketers are being challenged by the high frequency of AI impact on business, says CMO Council Africa Advisory Board member, Judy Gounden. She was interviewed by South Africa’s e.tv channel on the CMO Council’s role globally and in Africa, as a peer-powered network; as well as her presentation at the Marketing Innovation Summit in Johannesburg in July. As Gounden says, 78% of AI users are bringing their own AI tools to work, and her advice to marketers is to look beyond their own industry and explore partnerships that can bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. “Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and adopt a learning culture for yourself and those around you.
