Automation Pitfalls - 1 of 3
Automation Pitfalls - 1 of 3
Having been a thought leader and developer in the automation space for 20 years, I have worked with some of the most successful companies in the world. Together, by leveraging the benefits of RPA, we have transformed the way they operate achieving vast financial benefits and time-savings. I have been approached by a lot of companies that have not realised these benefits in their RPA journey. This has got me thinking about the common pitfalls of implementation, and I wanted to share these with you to ensure the benefits of RPA are universally achieved.
‘Don't underestimate the enormity of the possible!'
If you have a strong team and a solid platform, the answer to 'is this possible?' will always be 'YES'. The answer always remains ‘yes’, irrespective of how many systems you have, how complex a process is, or disparate your business is. Time is the greatest issue that companies face: be it identifying and documenting processes, reading and understanding data, and then building your code to ensure it is efficient, scalable and resilient. However, enterprise-level automation solutions can talk to all your systems as if they were one, read, consume and analyse any type of data, or even identify and document repetitive processes. Therefore, time is no longer an issue!
The technological advances in Automation has meant that business transformation is no longer just available to companies that have multi-million dollar budgets. Business transformation projects such as automating payroll processing, increasing security, migrating data can now be completed in days/weeks rather than years.
With automation the options are endless and the benefits achieved are truly tangible. Most companies introduce their RPA journey as a ‘tactical’ move, however, this mind-set can limit the possibilities that automation offers you. Understanding its true strategic prowess will enable your company to achieve their goals and realise all of the benefits.
