To automation and beyond
There are a lot of providers of automation and a few providers of AI. It’s in the combination of the two - overlaying the AI with automation - where the real power lies. When combined you deliver speed through relevance instead of only speed (automation) or only relevance (AI).
Even before Coronavirus hit, companies started embracing speed through relevance and AI-driven automation. Since then, the conversations and the willingness to move in this direction more rigorously has increased significantly.
First, people used Pocket Recruiter to accelerate their candidate discovery. Now they go further and let Pocket Recruiter support the candidate selection and engagement. Our advanced clients have set up expert teams, which includes recruiters, sourcers and continuous improvement leads. These teams are responsible for AI training, candidate quality assurance and rapid automation deployment. They ensure that Pocket Recruiter delivers candidates of the required quality and immediately fire up automation steps from auto-training to at least auto-selection. They then continuously work on enabling further automation along the hiring funnel. They are the only ones who can tweak the requirements and the only ones with direct access to external databases, be it with sourcing or in-coming applications. They are also the only ones with complete access to all Pocket Recruiter functionality.
Recruiters, as we know, receive a list of selected high-quality candidates. They can now focus on assessing true compatibility between intrinsic and extrinsic motivations of candidates and their deployment to the best team in tandem with the hiring manager. The recruiters either work in Pocket Recruiter or already in the company’s ATS.
I feel we, as an industry, are on the cusp of combining machine and human intelligence in new and better ways. Moving towards intelligent automation and delivering speed through relevance will - once the dark days of COVID 19 are behind us - drive a better experience for everybody involved.
