AUTOMATIC PICK HU CREATION IN SAP EWM

Introduction:

In this blog you will learn about the automatic pick HU creation during the pick warehouse task creation. There are some business cases where automatic packing is required at the time of picking. This automatic packing can be achieved using below process:

Solution with configuration details:

Creating number ranges and assigning it to packing material types.

Creation of packing profile.

Packing profiles are used to create pick HUs during the creation of warehouse orders for outbound processes. Using a packing profile, the system determines a packaging specification and HU type using the packaging material master data for the pick HU.

Assigning Packing profile to WOCR.

A warehouse order creation rule is defined for the activity area to create pick HUs for warehouse tasks in the warehouse orders.

At the start of picking using radio frequency (RF), the pick-HU is moved from the storage bin onto the resource. The system creates an HU warehouse task that uses this warehouse process type. WPT (Z060 ).

Creation of packaging specification for the respective packaging profile using the transaction:/SCWM/PACKSPEC.

A packaging specification holds a set of instructions for packaging a product in the warehouse. Because a product can be packed into several layers, packaging specifications are structured into levels, with each level having details for packing the product at that level.

Create storage bin using transaction /N/SCWM/LS01.

Bin is created in the virtual storage type.

Assign this intermediate storage bin to the starting point/start bin using the transaction code: /SCWM/SEBA

For the movement from auto pick storage bin to GI-ZONE we need to define the starting point in the pick activity of the storage type.

Testing The scenario:

Creation of delivery. Checked HU, No HU found. Created Warehouse order?

Confirmation of warehouse order through RF.

Login to the RF and follow the path-> Outbound Processes-> Picking->Picking by WO and scan the WO.

Click on F2 to create handling unit.

Scan the automatic HU created.

Scan the source bin ,product ,quantity and destination .Click on next.

Scan Destination bin and Destination HU, then confirm warehouse order.

After the confirmation HU is created automatically, we can see the HU created in the HU tab.
