Automated Sales?

I keep on getting requests from people to join my LinkedIn network, telling me how they can take my sales to the next level by automating them. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy technology as the guy next door, but when it comes time to selling, I am an old school, hand shake kind of guy. You see, in every business there is a sale or else that business will go down the drain. Every business has sales, but not every business can jump into automation of sales. I can understand the use of software, and apps that can make it easier for one to track appointments, manage your clients, know when their birthdays are coming up, or when their next order is to be delivered, that I get. What I don't and with all respect to those who have approached me in the past few weeks understand, is how can you take away the human contact for the sale. Specially if the sale is a consulting sale as an advisor. I am a risk advisor and have been one for the last twenty years, and yes, I do add some other fancy titles to my LinkedIn profile and I can explain why, but that is not the matter of the subject today, although they could be related! I've had my extended use of the different platforms for video calls and presentations and will not name them, because they don't sponsor me, but if they want to, I am open to it! With these platforms it can be easy to have that first meeting, and keep you from the awkwardness of that first meeting where you have to break the ice! The reality is that to form a bond with your clients you have to be there in person. The old hand shake is the ultimate deal sealer and we are not using that anymore, we have depersonalized the sales process. There can be some instances where I myself don't want your sales person and rather deal with a system, a computer, but when people base their decisions on trust, and what they are looking for is advice, they need the good old skin and bones to show up. This of course is my opinion, and I know maybe many, especially younger generations will criticize this and believe me, you have the right to do so, but please look me up and explain to me how I can automate the sale of a consultancy service based on trust and on knowing people? Thoughts?
