Automate Your Steam Tracers
In many locations in the northern hemisphere, winterization steam tracing may be needed infrequently, yet many operators energize the tracing lines and leave them operating until the last chance of freezing passes. In our area of the Gulf Coast, we can see freezing overnight temperatures with the mercury rising to 50+°F during the day. This means that steam tracing needed overnight becomes a wasted resource during the warmer daylight hours. But manually shutting off inlet valves when steam tracers aren’t needed can become an expensive exercise, too.
Our friends at #ThermOmegaTech have the automated answer for remote, infrequently needed steam tracing in their TV ambient temperature sensing tracer control valve.
TV series valves have a phase-change thermal actuator that allows the valve to energize or de-energize steam tracer lines as the ambient temperatures dictate. For example, the TV-SC-A valve with a 40°F thermal sensor (many others are available, too) will open the steam supply beginning at 45°F with full steam flow at 40°F. The valve remains open as long as the ambient temperature remains below 45°F. As ambient temperature rises, the valve cycles closed, saving steam and preventing possible overheating of the traced line.
TV-series valves are ideal for remote or hazardous locations where it could expensive or inconvenient to operate electrical devices to control steam flow. And since ThermOmegaTech SV-series valves are simple, reliable devices, operators can rest easy knowing that their critical steam tracing is in service.
ThermOmegaTech temperature sensing valves are ruggedly constructed and made in the USA. Marspec Technical Products is proud of our 35 year relationship with ThermOmegaTech and we can put that experience to work for you. Give us a call to get the full ThermOmegaTech story!
