Autodesk University 2022 Highlights

This year’s Autodesk University conference took place at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from September 27th to 29th.

The event gathered thousands of Autodesk technology experts, customers, partners, and enthusiasts from around the globe. Speakers from Autodesk and organizations such as the City of New Orleans, British Antarctic Survey, Amazon Studios, BBi Autosport, and more shared how they are achieving better outcomes by connecting people, processes, and technology.

Speakers, organizers and attendees shared insights regarding use cases, success stories, product updates, news and announcements. Besides the already known array of technical classes and keynotes, the Expo/Exhibition area was one of the main discussion drivers at the event. This space served as a networking area and showcased key Autodesk teams per industry as well as integration partners and service providers.

AU 2022 also connected industry peers, colleagues, and innovators from the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction), Manufacturing and M&E (Media & Entertainment) under one roof.

Some of the most exciting announcements to highlight are:

• Epic Games + Autodesk

Together, Revit and Twinmotion bring the digital building landscape better animation options and a gaming look and feel.

Launch Twinmotion for Revit directly from the Revit ribbon in Revit 2023.1. Immerse yourself in the intuitive creator environment, and turn your design data into photo-realistic stills, scenes, and scenarios.?

• Autodesk Industry Clouds – Autodesk Forma, Fusion and Flow

Autodesk Forma, the industry cloud for AEC, unifies Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows for teams who design, build, and operate the built environment. The first Forma offering will help customers extend the BIM process into planning and early-stage design.

Autodesk Flow, the industry cloud for M&E, connects customer workflows, data, and teams across the entire production lifecycle from earliest concept to final delivery. The first cloud product available on Flow will focus on Asset Management, giving users the ability to manage assets throughout the entire production process.

Autodesk Fusion, the industry cloud for D&M, connects customer data and people across the entire product development lifecycle from top floor to shop floor. Fusion 360, together with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage with Upchain, and Prodsmart make up the initial cloud offerings within Autodesk Fusion.

Autodesk Platform Services, previously known as Forge, will be the foundation for all three industry clouds, with a set of cross-industry APIs and services formerly known as Forge.

• Data Exchange Connector for McNeel Rhino Public Beta

This new connector links Revit to Rhino for better data exchange between the platforms. Built on Autodesk Forge, the Rhino Connector lets you share geometry and properties with other connected Autodesk and third-party applications — like Revit, Inventor, and Microsoft Power Automate.

• The Wild

At the beginning of 2022, it was announced that Autodesk acquired “The Wild”. The Wild is an Immersive collaboration platform that uses VR/AR to enable teams to save time and make better decisions by experiencing work together in a shared virtual space.

During Autodesk University, the wild capabilities were showcased to attendees in the expo area.

Moreover, it was an honour to deliver my first in-person Autodesk University class live for +110 attendees.

I’m happy to announce that due to the positive feedback from attendees, the class has been granted a Top-Rated Speaker Award!

It is an unprecedented achievement, since only 25 out of +400 classes were selected. I am really grateful with all attendees for their surveys and comments.
