AUTO E MOTO D’EPOCA 2024: THE EUROPEAN CENTRE OF CAR AND MOTORCYCLE PASSION IN BOLOGNA

Bologna is all set to host the 41st edition of AUTO e MOTO D’EPOCA, the historic international exhibition dedicated to the world of Classics, a gathering place for all automotive enthusiasts.

The history, present and future of the automotive world on display. Attendance confirmed by Alpine, Mercedes, Toyota, Volkswagen and the great makes of the Motor Valley. As well as the ASI Village and the ACI Experience. Over 7,000 cars and motorbikes at Europe’s largest classic market.

Kicking off with a preview of the Mauto's major autumn exhibition, "125 Years of FIAT," celebrating the Turin automaker's 125th anniversary. Bologna will host a curated selection of FIAT vehicles that epitomise the history of this iconic Italian brand, telling the unique story of Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino – established in 1899 – which is also the story of Italy's modernisation. It's a narrative of mechanical and social innovations that have profoundly shaped our nation.

"Half a day away from the opening of the 41st edition of AUTO E MOTO D’EPOCA, the thing that made us most happy is that, despite the weather, despite the not entirely favorable economic situation, passion has won again. The amount of people who came to this event today and who are walking through our corridors is truly incredible! Passion, as always, wins over everything, but above all the desire for cars, the desire to dream, the desire to relive moments you lived when you were young, seeing cars and models that made you dream, has an incredible strength. This should demonstrate that the car is a wonderful vehicle and that we need to invest in this sector, because in any case people want cars and want to dream".

The Mauto's preview at the Bologna Auto e Moto d'Epoca event will feature a unique selection of vehicles, distinct from the Turin exhibition, to narrate the origins, racing history, design, and popular models that have driven Italy's motorisation. Among these are the 1899 Fiat 3 ? HP, the 1902 Fiat 12/16hp once owned by the Florio family, the futuristic 1954 Fiat Turbina, and the iconic utility vehicles that have left an enduring mark on the brand's history. Alongside the vehicles, memorabilia, artefacts, and documents.

Featuring over 7,000 vehicles, 6 exhibition halls, 4 outdoor areas, and a sprawling 125,000 square metres, the CAR Path is Europe's premier automotive marketplace, uniting top Italian and international dealers. History, culture, innovation and engineering accompany and enrich every moment of your visit.

A vast array of historic cars is available, including exceptional finds like the one-of-a-kind prototype of the Lancia Aurelia B20 by Ghia, previously owned by Count Aymo Maggi, founder of the 1000 Miglia.

Whether you're seeking a rare classic or a symbolic icon like the final Fiat 500, our collection has something for every collector. Other market highlights include: Copersucar Fittipaldi F6 from Formula 1, Ferrari 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' Gr. IV Conversion, a 1954 Porsche 356 Speedster, a 1973 Ferrari 246 Dino GTS, Lancia Aurelia B53 Coupe By Allemano '52, Mercedes-Benz 220SE Ponton Cabriolet '59; through to Instant Classics such as the Porsche 997 Turbo S Cabrio 918 Spyder Edition '2011.

As in previous years, the event will feature a collection of celebrity cars, including a specially prepared and personalised Fiat Ritmo by Abarth, originally owned by Enzo Ferrari.

Many cars on display, some incredibly rare like the Porsche that Porsche did not remember producing, at Pavilion 26, at the "Civico 5 Restauri" stand. A vehicle and a unique moment: the delivery of the 1976 Porsche 911 Targa to its owner after a year of restoration by Civico 5 Restauri.

The example is a rare Green Metallic with green interior, an option that the first owner requested when ordering the 911. A unique piece that Porsche also confirmed with a historical certificate.

In addition to this marvel, we find the last 500 ever built and a very rare 500 N SPORT in pavilion 32, Stand "Affari Sbullonati", the Lancia Aurelia B20 of the founder of the 1000 MIGLIA, Count Aymo Maggi, in pavilion 26 "Auto Classic Srl", the historic Fittipaldi F6 from 1979, created thanks to the former Formula 1 driver Emerson Fittipaldi;

the Campagnola 037 that ran the Paris Dakkar twice, with an engine from the Lancia 037; and also the car that the great Nuvolari drove without a steering wheel (Pavilion 26, Stand Righetti): the Cisitalia D46 from 1946.

Next comes the MOTORBIKE Path: 15,000 square metres for a veritable exhibition dedicated to all fans of classic motorbikes and new models alike, a cultural heritage brought together. The previews include a rare gem brought by the Austrian TOP Mountain Motorcycle Museum: the Ducati 500 GP driven by Phil Read in 1971, the bike that defined the 'classic' architecture of the Ducati twin cylinder still in use today.

An exhibition of rare English motorcycles, including Lord Hesketh's exclusive Hesketh models, legendary Vincente Motorcycles bikes, and historic Brough Superior motorcycles, is eagerly anticipated."

The Bologna Museum of Technology will showcase the rich motorcycle heritage of the city and its surrounding area while the legendary 6-cylinder GP Honda will be arriving from England.

The Malanca Collection will further enhance your experience with both street and racing models like the Testa Rossa, Tigre, and Mark 125, alongside racing bikes that have competed in international championships, including prototypes such as the OB One Racing 3 series. Making its Bologna début, the iconic London Ace Café, founded in 1938, known worldwide as the most famous motorcycle café. A pilgrimage for motorcyclists worldwide, the Ace Café is more than just a café; it's a genuine symbol of freedom and adventure.

And now we’ve reached the Path dedicated to THE WORLD OF CLASSICS: history, passion and innovation. Devised for visitors to meet those who preserve, hand down to the new generations and regenerate the universal motoring heritage. Among the highlights, the Registro Internazionale Touring Superleggera pays tribute to the legendary O.S.C.A. with an exhibition of rare models such as the OSCA 1600 and the unique 1964 OSCA Spider 1050, previously showcased at the Turin Motor Show that year. FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens) will be making its début with its own booth. The Lancia Fulvia Club will showcase a Fulvia 2C with a racing history, while the Boxer Lancia Club will present a first-series Lancia Flavia saloon configured to support the HF Racing Team.

The Marazzato Foundation will offer a glimpse into the past with a collection of vintage vehicles, including a 1959 Fiat 682 N2 Supercortemaggiore, a 1915 Fiat 18 P, and a 1960 Lancia Beta 190 with a Viberti cab. Among this year’s other news, Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club Italia, the Italian section of the English club that was established in December 1984 and this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Get ready for a virtual road trip through Italy! The ASI Village at Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2024 will have a central theme that guides visitors on a virtual tour of Italian roads. The title perfectly captures the essence: 'Classics on the Road: Embracing the Joy of Slow Travel'. Italy's foremost federation in the classic car sector, together with its numerous Clubs forming the 'Village', emphasises the joy of exploring our country's stunning landscapes in historic vehicles. Rounding out the ASI Village exhibition are stunning two- and four-wheeled vehicles from the Morbidelli and Bertone Col-lections, along with special tributes to Maserati's 110th birthday and racing legend Arturo Merzario, who will be honoured with the prestigious "ASI Award for Historic Motoring 2024" on Saturday, 25th October.

Last but not least comes the restyled SPARE PARTS Path: Europe’s largest line-up of vintage spare parts - from mechanics to engine electronics and interior components. In 2024, this path has been renovated to improve the visitor experience: all car parts and automobilia are gathered in Exhibition Hall 30, motorcycle parts in Hall 29, while Hall 28 is entirely dedicated to model making. The spare parts market has always been has always been a vital component of Auto e Moto d’Epoca. Year after year, this event attracts a curated selection of European exhibitors displaying original and extremely rare spare parts for a wide range of Italian and foreign vehicles.
