AUTHORS SPOTLIGHT

An author is a person who writes a literary work, such as a book, article, or play. They are the originators of their creations, distinguishing them from roles like compilers, translators, or editors.

The work of writers who eventually become authors is one that has not been fully recognized and appreciated in this part of the world. Amazingly, for a country like Ghana, we have been blessed with many great, prolific, and talented authors who have contributed classic and influential literature to the literary and academic ecosystem of our nation.?

However, little or no honor or acknowledgement has been given to their effort. I like to state emphatically that writers are one of the most creative and gifted people we can ever find. The truth of the matter is that many people do not know what it takes to go through the process of writing a book and getting it published. It takes a lot of work and sacrifice, and I believe writers and authors deserve the right veneration and adulation.

This literary serial was born out of the necessity to celebrate, venerate, honor, and acknowledge the contribution of all and mostly Ghanaian writers and authors who have contributed creative works and master pieces to the development of literacy in Ghana.?

I, for one, believe this initiative is overdue. Ghanaian writers and authors deserve to be celebrated and honored. And I like to take the first step and do that in my own small way.

So join me in this creative expedition where we unveil authors that many may have never heard about, celebrate their creative prowess, honor their zeal and tenacity, and, to crown it all, educate the current generation about the history of literacy in Ghana.?
